Alpacas are gentle and intuitive members of the camel family, originating in the high mountains of South America. Alpacas are flight animals, since they have no way to protect themselves except to run away.

At Paca Peace Ranch for Youth, kids learn a healthy and peaceful lifestyle and build trust as they bond with a personal alpaca. A youth learns to be relaxed and focused to gain the alpaca’s trust and then a bond of friendship forms. At the end of the year long program, evaluations tell us that the children tend to be more responsible, more confident and peaceful.
