Paca Peace Ranch is a non-profit organization serving the area around Westcliffe and Cotopaxi,
Colorado. Youth of about 10 years of age stay at the ranch for one
weekend per month, and are in charge of ranch operations during
that time. These two separate groups of five girls and five boys
learn to care for and train their personal alpacas. They also plan
and do chores, cooking, and activities. Paca
Peace also offers Alpaca Training Day Programs with oneon-one
mentors.
Youth can build
trusting relationships with
their animals and other people at Paca Peace Ranch. They can gain
confidence, and learn peaceful and healthy lifestyles through this
one-year program.
No fees are charged, as the ranch is funded by donations and grants.
Paca Peace Ranch practices non-discrimination in the selection of
youth (race, creed, color, socio-economic status, gender, handicap).
