All About Alpacas
Alpacas are a small member
of the camel (camelid) family, which includes llamas. They originally
came from the mountains in South America (Peru, Bolivia, and Chile).
Alpacas are about the size of a large dog (100-200 pounds) and tend
to be very fuzzy due to their thick, gorgeous fleece.

There are TWO kinds of alpacas:
 |
 |
| The Suri
(sir-ee) alpaca has long, lustrous fiber that resembles strands
of a rope. |
The
Huacaya (wa-ki-ya) alpaca has fluffy fiber that has crimp (is
wavy). |
